Child abuse continues to be a problem in Long Beach

In all areas of Long Beach:
refer to the statistics.

Child abuse is one of the leading causes of death among children 15 years old and younger. Refer to the CDC for national statistics. For child abuse survivors, the ordeal of abuse and resulting psychological and emotional scars linger a lifetime.

Many studies into the causes of violent behavior in adolescents and adults have revealed that abusers are most often victims of child abuse.

The mission of the End Child Abuse Long Beach ( is to empower 4th and 5th grade students on how to Break the Silence on sexual abuse and Break the Cycle of physical abuse by providing a child abuse prevention Program per the California State Law and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

  1. Heighten student awareness and understanding of child abuse forms.
  2. Empower students to recognize child abuse, and obtain help when necessary.
  3. Inform students on non-physical methods of discipline.
